ISUP - Integrated Systems for Underwater Production of Hydrocarbons

The project was funded in the context of the initiative "Go Subsea" by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie with the project executing organisation Projektträger Jülich.

In the context of the ISUP project the scope of the sub-project "ARPA" (Availability and Remote Control of Process Control and Automation Systems) of the IPR is to research and develop methods for the secured and reliable remote control, maintenance and diagnosis of long-distant and unapproachable production facilities. These methods will be integrated into the flexible and "open" control and automation system IMPaControl. An underwater production system (UPS) for hydrocarbons is used as a demonstrator.

Sub-goals

  1. Research, development and testing of a concept for the software and communication architecture for tamper-resistant and fault-tolerant communication transmission
  2. Research, development and testing of a mathematical model for reliability analysis and availability calculation
  3. Research, development and testing of a remote diagnosis, programming and maintenance system with integrated methods for automatic correction of software components.
