Jonas Kiemel and Pascal Meißner organize TransLearn workshop at IEEE RO-MAN 2019 in New Delhi
On October 17, our colleagues Pascal Meißner und Jonas Kiemel organized a workshop on "Transfer Learning" at the IEEE International Conference on Robot & Human Interactive Communication 2019 (RO-MAN) in New Delhi.
The theme of the conference was "Responsible Robotics and AI for the Real World".
As part of the workshop, the BMBF-funded research project TransLearn - "Robot Skill Transfer from Simulation to Real World Deployment in Manufacturing Industries and Warehouses" was presented.
Within the project, KIT explores methods to enable Sim-2-Real transfer for industrial applications. The research is done in close collaboration with the robot manufacturer KUKA, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Tata Consultancy Services.
The list of speakers included Prof. Mary-Anne Williams (University of Technology, Sydney), Prof. Laxmidhar Behera (Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur) Amit Pandey (Hanson Robotics).
Jonas Kiemel also gave a talk on his latest research results.
