The research project SDM4FZI focuses on software-defined manufacturing (SDM). SDM refers to methods and technologies for planning and optimizing adaptive production systems based on digital twins. Within this project, IAR-IPR develops novel methods for simulation-based planning of human-robot collaboration (HRC) systems, especially with regard to the issues of safety and risk assessment.

The research project SDM4FZI is funded within the funding program "Future Investments in the Automotive Industry" of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
