There is a high demand for adaptive and efficient production systems for small and medium sized enterprises in order to produce small batch sizes cost efficiently and to be able to react promptly on sales fluctuations. For this purpose human-robot-cooperation is ideally suited though has the disadvantages of either being not safe or highly productive.

Thus, the goal of the project is to realize an approach which surpasses these shortcomings. Through intelligent combination of safe sensors, unsafe but high-performance 3D-camera technology and modern information technology the requirements by law shell be met and complied with.
