Best student paper award at the MESA 2012 in Suzhou
At this year’s IEEE/ASME internal conference on mechatronic and embedded systems and applications (MESA12, 8-10 July, China), our research associate Christoph Ledermann received the “Best Student Paper Award”. In his concept paper “Combining shape sensor and haptic sensors for highly flexible single port system using Fiber Bragg technology” he described how haptic sensors and a shape sensor can be realized based on fiber bragg gratings. He also developed a concept on how these different sensor types can be combined in a sensor system.
Furthermore, Prof. Heinz Wörn presented the paper “Towards an Autonomous Manipulator System for Decontamination and Release Measurement”, where a research project for decommission of nuclear power plants is described (MAFRO).
